Palo Santo Bundle (ethically-sourced from Ecuador)
These bundles feature two chunky pieces of Palo Santo, also known as "Holy Wood," ethically and sustainably collected from a province in the northeast tropical region of Manabi, Ecuador. They've been bundled with love by Luna Ruda, who has partnered with the Artisan Union of Manabi to ensure that all Palo Santo gathered is not only of the best quality, but is also collected in the most ethical and sustainable way (due to new conservation laws that prohibit the deforestation of Palo Santo trees, bark can only be gathered from fallen or dead/dried trees.)
Palo Santo has been used for centuries by Indigenous people in South America for its medicinal properties, as well as in sacred ceremonies. The natural aromatic fragrance that the wood emits is believed to relieve stress and anxiety, clear out negative or stagnant energy, and is even used to repel mosquitoes.
Luna Ruda is a small business owned and run by two Latinx women, Nadia Rodriguez (of Ecuadorian and Dominican ancestry) and Stephanie Garcia Alban (of Ecuadorian ancestry.) They focus on selling responsibly-sourced fair trade items from South American artisans.
